How did your awesome business come to be?
Margaritas, enchiladas and dream conversing with friends and my husband. Speaking openly of what our passions really are and what we are frustrated with where are right now and then thinking... Why not?
Who inspired you to pursue entrepreneurship?
My husband was and has always been the biggest supporter. He saw my passion and helped me make it real - form it into a real business and give it a brand and direction.
I'm on a mission to...
Simplify fitness and nutrition while at the same time using Gaia Fit as a vehicle to show people how they can give back and serve others regardless of how much money or time they may or may not have.
Have you ever had a mentor? If so, how did they help you?
Yes and No. I have worked with several people I admire very much that I have learned a lot from, but I am also a fall flat on your phase and struggle through some thing before asking for help. Stubborn maybe? But can also eventually admit and learn from my mistakes to make the and see the improvements needed for success and betterment.
How do you define success for yourself?
Seeing the light bulb go off in a client, friend or family member. Helping them to help themself to that aha moment.
We all love failure & flop stories! Tell us about something you tried in business that didn't work, and how you moved beyond it.
Gaia Fit started out as a fitness cooperative.
What is a recent success that you're super proud of accomplishing?
Making a branding partner decision (after being with the company for 9 years) because I saw the initial was pulling me off track and making me an icky part of the noise in the health industry to a company that pulls you right into what is essential and foundational.
What is your superpower?
Being Real although sometimes it does not feel like a super power because it is not what people want at that time, but I can't fake it.
What is the least sexy part of your job?
Touching another person's sweat & numbers. Numbers from profit and loss, bookkeeping, setting prices, asking someone if they weighed themselves, taking another person's measurements.
What do you hope to learn from your community of peers inside the Hatch Tribe Members Circle?
Everything and Anything - The one thing I have learned throughout the past 6 years of having my own business is that you will never know everything and you can always learn something. On a practical note -- how to consistently market, close and make money on an online program that I have built (and building).
