Creating your Instagram Sales Machine

Have you ever wondered if it was actually possible to make money from Instagram? Maybe you follow someone who posts about all the clients they have or all the sales they have made from a single post. If you are scratching your head and wondering “how the heck are they doing that”....keep reading, this is for you!

Instagram can be an incredibly powerful marketing platform when done correctly. The problem that so many entrepreneurs run into is that they try to make sales without a solid strategy, which usually just leads to a lot of frustration, confusion and wasted time.

The secret to getting results with Instagram is to create what I like to call, an “Instagram Sales Machine”. Once this machine is set up, it will help you generate consistent leads and clients from Instagram without having to create tons of new content or spend hours in cold pitching in your DM’s.

Here is the simple 3-step strategy for how to start profiting from your Instagram posts by setting up your Instagram Sales Machine:

Create content that converts

Instagram is a great place to attract dream customers to your business. The best way to do this is by creating high value content. There are 4 types of content you want to be posting regularly in order to build your personal brand and start turning followers into customers.

  1. Educational content - Give your audience tips and tricks and position yourself as the expert in your field

  2. Inspirational content - Inspire your audience to believe that the transformation they want is possible for them

  3. Connection Content - People buy from people, so let your audience get to know you on a personal level

  4. Promotional content - Remind your audience about your amazing offers and how they can get the results they want by working with you


Optimize your Bio 

Now that you are attracting more dream customers to your profile with your amazing content, you want to make sure that your bio is optimized to convert them into a lead. The easiest way to do this is to create a tailored bio, which consists of three main components:

  1. Who you help

  2. How you help them

  3. CTA to click the link in your bio

You also want to make sure that the link in your bio gives them a way to join your email list so that you can keep in touch with them and let them know about any upcoming promotions and offers, without the pesky algorithm getting in the way!

Focus on the numbers

What you don’t measure, can’t grow. I see so many entrepreneurs focusing on the number of followers they have. However, followers don’t pay the bills...customers do. It is important to remember that we don’t own our followers, Mark Zuckerberg does, so we want to make sure that we are focusing on converting followers into leads/email subscribers so that we will be able to remain in contact with them regardless of changes to the algorithm or Instagram glitches. 

So the number you want to start paying attention to is your profile conversion rate. Your conversion rate is the number of people who visit your profile, and click on the link in your bio to become a lead. You can find all of this information in your account analytics (which you should be tracking!)

When you have a simple strategy to follow, Instagram stops feeling confusing and starts to feel simple. When you know your profile is converting, you can focus on simply creating content that directs people to your profile so you can welcome them into your community!
